Operable Façade Screening for a Modern Learning Environment

Designed by ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects and delivered by Newpol Construction, the Kilvington Grammar School Science Tech Centre demonstrates an integrated approach to daylight control, ventilation, and modern design.

Louvreclad’s Polaris Series® Perforated Metal Screens were specified as operable façade elements to provide dynamic shading and ventilation. The precision-cut aluminium panels allow filtered light while reducing glare and heat gain, maintaining comfort and visibility within the classrooms. The operable function enhances environmental control, aligning with the building’s focus on sustainable and adaptive design. Finished in Dulux® Duratec® Eternity® Aries Metallic Matt, the screens deliver long-term durability and a refined, contemporary appearance.

Complementing these, the Scarborough Series® Window Hoods feature slim horizontal sun blades that extend the building’s architectural rhythm and shading performance. Together, these systems provide both aesthetic cohesion and functional efficiency, contributing to the school’s progressive learning environment.
