Swaged Louvres and Trafficable Screens

Louvreclad’s Mirage Series® swaged louvres and screens are a robust fixed louvre option which provide superior impact resistance and durability with clean, straight lines that complement modern architecture.

If there is a requirement for trafficable walk ways and sunscreens, then Louvreclad’s Mirage Series® swaged louvre screens are the ideal solution.  Horizontal screens on large commercial buildings often need to be trafficable to allow for maintenance via abseiling. This means the screens will need to be engineered to meet the requirements of Australian Standard AS1657:2018. Louvreclad  Mirage Series swaged louvres are made up of angled extruded aluminium profiles, transected by square cross bars and fixed in place by crimping. The process by which mechanical pressure is used to lock these bars in place is called swaging, hence swaged screens.

This swaged connection creates an incredibly robust aluminium louvre system which has the capacity to be engineered as trafficable screening and access walkways that meet the requirements of AS 1657:2018, whilst also providing excellent sun shading to commercial buildings.  This is why Mirage Series° swaged louvres are often specified to provide trafficable screening on large commercial and industrial buildings.

Mirage Series® swaged louvres are also available in a wide range of profiles and sizing which can be incorporated into any privacy system, air grille, sun shading or trafficable access to buildings and elevated walkways. Whilst the system has been designed more specifically as a sun screen, it is often specified to provide maximum ventilation where building services call for screens with high percentage free open area. Panels can be mounted vertically or horizontally, depending on your requirements.

Fabricated from aluminium with a powder coat or anodised finish, the Mirage Series swaged louvres provide a low maintenance and robust solution with airflow efficiently maximised due to the FOA (Free open Area) thus allowing sufficient ventilation to meet the building services requirements.

What does Swaged mean?
