What is Aluminium Cladding used for?

Aluminium cladding is a highly versatile cladding option that can be installed onto the exterior or interior of your building. It is also commonly installed as a soffit cladding and for custom architectural features on a building’s façade.  Louvreclad Platinum Series cladding system is a highly bespoke and custom cladding system. Louvreclad recommends booking in a design meeting with our technical team to ascertain the constraints and connection details specific to your project.

Is Solid Aluminium Cladding safe?

(A) As long as the aluminium supplier can provide a AS1530.1 and AS 1530.3 non-combustible test certificates for their product, then the aluminium cladding system will comply with National Construction Code (NCC) and is classified as non-combustible in accordance with NCC 2016 C1.9 as follows:

(e) The following materials may be used wherever a non-combustible material is required:(v) Pre-finished metal sheeting having a combustible surface finish not exceeding 1 mm thickness and where the Spread-of-Flame Index of the product is not greater than 0.

As all of Louvreclad’s products are made from solid aluminium and the powder coating is less than 1mm thick, the Spread of Flame index is Zero and therefore all systems are deemed non-combustible.
