In the heart of Green Square Town Centre, FJMT and Mirvac’s 28-storey OVO building sets a benchmark for sustainable high-rise living. Its curved, jewel-like façade is more than a design statement—it’s a performance outfit. With an emphasis on low operational energy and healthy indoor environments, this residential tower demanded architectural exterior solutions that could match its ambition. That’s where Louvreclad came in.

Inspire

The vision was bold: a striking ellipsoid-shaped building with high-performing façades that wouldn’t compromise on beauty. Inspired by the surrounding landscape, the façade featured a complex palette of seventeen colours—each carefully selected to reflect and complement the local environment.

From the outset, Louvreclad worked closely with Mirvac and the design team to ensure every detail would perform as well as it looked. The project required feature screening and sun shading that could deliver on both visual appeal and climate responsiveness, while respecting the building’s sculptural form.

Engineer

Turning this vision into reality required precision engineering and technical expertise. Louvreclad’s in-house team designed and engineered custom systems to meet the stringent wind load, structural integrity, and performance standards demanded by a building of this scale.

Key solutions included:

  • Caprice Series® 334x45mm Vertical Sun Blades – used on the Ebsworth Street elevation in dual-tone finishes to create a refined, jewellery-like façade detail.

  • Vulcan Series® 145x45mm Rhombus Battens – installed across three separate buildings in a variety of finishes, delivering continuous vertical screening.

  • Nexus Series® Standard Louvres – selected for rooftop plant areas to provide maximum airflow while concealing equipment from view.

  • Barossa Series® Cantilevered Roof Awnings – adding a signature ‘halo’ in burnt orange at the building’s crown to cap off the architecture.

Designing for height meant our engineers had to consider extreme wind pressures, fixings, and bracing requirements—factors that often call for wind tunnel testing. Our detailed planning process gave the client certainty, reduced risk, and ensured everything was MadeRight.
