Louvreclad Engineer – A Design Process Tailored for You

Louvreclad implements a custom process for every large-scale project. Every brief demands a tailored approach to meet technical, compliance, and performance expectations.

When dealing with bespoke design, project-specific compliance requirements, or buildings that need regulated sign-off, Louvreclad provides a process that focuses on the planning, design, and engineering of louvre and screening systems.

Our solution to this is Louvreclad Engineer — a structured, detailed process to meet project-specific requirements with attention, planning, and a commitment to getting it right the first time.

What is the Louvreclad Engineer design service?

Louvreclad Engineer is a new way of engaging Louvreclad’s design and engineering team at concept stage. This collaboration allows us to assign the right experts to align with your project vision and technical requirements, right from the start.

The goal is not just to create a design, but to ensure every louvre or screening system is fit-for-purpose, compliant, able to stand the test of time, and delivered through a tailored process that ensures it’s right the first time.

The Louvreclad Engineer Process:

1. Design Development and System Planning: Utilising state of the art 3D modelling software, our team will provide initial concept sketches and 3D prototypes to explore design options, technologies and processes that mitigate risk, reduce pain points, all the while maintaining your design intent.

2. Feasibility Study: The developed design is clarified using sketches, prototypes, and first-pass engineering calculations to back it up. Full prototype design (if required).

3. Prototype Production: Including shop drawings of the prototype, fabrication, and delivery.

4. Project-specific Performance Specification: If required.

5. Documentation:

  • Project-specific shop drawings
  • Engineer certification to relevant Australian standards
  • Compliance declaration in accordance with NSW Building Practitioners Act 2020
