A stunning timber-look finish with Operable Aluminium louvres

Our Oxford Series® 150mm aluminium elliptical operable louvres provide a feature to the western façade of the Bupa Aged Care Queens Park development. When occupant comfort and energy efficiency is of upmost importance, electrically actuated sun shading is the ultimate solution. Our operable louvres can be connected to Building Management Systems, or a simple switch that allows occupants to control direct solar gains at all times of the day.

Louvreclad Oxford Series® 150mm elliptical louvres have a spanning capability of approximately 2.8 metres. In this particular design, the architects chose to accentuate the mid-point horizontal support by selecting Interpon D2525 Monument matt, contrasting with the Knotwood timber-look finish of the vertical sun blades. Knotwood’s timber-look powder coat provides a long lasting, maintenance free alternative solution to natural timber louvres.

The design also incorporated our Nexus Series® performance louvres and louvred doors, and custom-fabricated Platinum Series® 4mm aluminium window shrouds. The 4mm solid aluminium was precision folded to create these origami-like window hoods, combined with discreet fixings to achieve a floating aesthetic.

This carefully curated selection of louvres and screens has created a timeless contemporary façade and high-end aesthetic. A fantastic outcome for everyone involved.
